Eczema Honey Co. Review

Eczema Honey Co. Review - amybethcampbell.com

It’s been a minute, but I’m excited to finally be breaking my blogging silence today! And… it’s for good reason! I’m sharing a little miracle product that has helped me so much lately and I’m hopeful it will help y’all, too!

I’ve been battling eczema for a few years now. Through my own struggle with eczema, I’ve done a lot of research! It’s been so interesting to discover how many different ways, shapes, and forms eczema can take with those struggling with it as well. Because so many battle varying types of eczema as well, I’ve been shocked to realize that there aren’t more products on the market that are high performing. For me (and for many others I know), it seemed as if steroid and cortisone creams (both prescription and over the counter) were the only remedies that truly worked. So, I used them. But then as I’ve gone through my safer beauty journey in the past year, I realized how poor the ingredients in these steroid creams are and I’ve been determined to find a safer solution! However, it’s been a harder task than I expected it to be!

I’ve tried a bunch of different natural and safer eczema remedies in the past year, but nothing did the trick. Finally, a few months ago, I discovered Eczema Honey Co. As a blogger, I rarely reach out to brands… I usually just blog what I love and if the brand sees that and decides to reach out to consider a partnership, I’ll go for it. However, I knew so many of my readers also struggle with eczema… so I decided to reach out Eczema Honey Co. to see if I could try their product and share an honest review on my blog! They agreed and here we are!

Initial Thoughts:

I was first surprised at how small the jar seemed! I’m terrible at looking at weight quantities when I order products, so when it arrived I was a little worried that my little jar wouldn’t last long. Boy, was I wrong! A little goes a looooong way with this stuff! More on that later. When I opened the jar, there was no smell which I loved because a) that confirms there’s no added irritating fragrance in the ingredients and b) I really don’t want my eczema cream to smell! And so many steroid creams do… yuck!

Ingredients:

As you’ll see in the photo above, the ingredients are SO clean! Hooray! You can’t beat that! I did a quick Google search to see what kind of ingredients were in the Cortisone cream I was using… and I was slightly horrified. Parabens (linked to hormone disruption) and Phenoxyetanol (preservative, depresses the nervous system, and skin irritant)… to name a few. I really try to steer far clear of anything with those ingredients so I’m so grateful to not be using a product on my eczema daily with them!

Eczema Honey Co. Review - amybethcampbell.com

Application:

As I mentioned above, a little goes a long way! I rub my fingers around in a circle on the top (as you would a lip balm in a jar/tin) and apply a small  amount to my eczema spots. Once the product touches body heat, it melts… hence why a little goes a long way! I make sure to really rub it in (without being too aggressive and aggravating the sensitive skin) and give it some try to absorb and dry. It’s SUPER cooling and provides instant relief which I absolutely love! Something to note: it’s a little sticky and it doesn’t rub in the way a traditional cream would. But, I’ve become used to it! Eczema Honey Co. states that this slightly ‘tacky’ feeling is actually the natural lipid b-layer that is created once the cream soaks in. Interesting, right?! They recommended that if you can’t do sticky, to add a little water or aloe-based lotion on top. I’ve never done this because the stick is really minimal in my opinion! Another application option? You can use it as a mask! You can apply a thicker layer and wear it as a mask for 20 minutes or so and then gently remove with a damp washcloth.

What Else I’ve Been Using It For:

I’ve been struggling with super dry skin on my face this summer and I’ve been wearing it as a face mask at night! It has helped my dry flakey skin immensely! I also have been using it on bug bites! I recently had a few mosquito bites and even a big spider bite that were all incredibly itchy. I put someEczema Honey on them and couldn’t believe how much relief it provided and how quickly they healed! It put my old cortisone cream I used for such bites to shame!

Apparently, you can use Eczema Honey on all sorts of other spots! Psoriasis, Dermatitis, Rosacea, KP, Sunburn, Space burn, Rash, Acne, etc. You can also use it as a makeup remover, lip balm, and even help a pet’s inflamed skin! Dallas has all kinds of skin issues (as is typical for Golden Retrievers) so I really want to try this on him!

Eczema Honey Co. Review - amybethcampbell.com

Overall Thoughts:

I truly love this stuff! It has completely replaced cortisone cream in our medicine cabinet. I do find that you need to use it fairly consistently to see results… ie you can’t just use it once and except things to clear up immediately. However, I do think it absolute works, heals, and calms down my eczema and other skin issues much quicker than any other natural remedy I’ve ever tried. I love how safe this product is and how I don’t have to worry about the integrity of my skin when consistently applying it. Because it’s so safe, I love knowing it’s something I could use on our future babies someday, too! Something to really note: because it’s so safe and natural… you MUST keep it in the fridge! It states this on the packaging card when you order, but I was a dummy and didn’t read it at first. I spotted the tiniest bit of mold forming and emailed the brand immediately and they politely reminded me that because the product has no preservatives, it needs to be stored in the fridge! They sent me a new jar RIGHT away with no questions asked! Even though it was totally my fault! Amazing. I love good customer service!

//

I’ve now had my sister, closest girlfriends, close mama friends, and anyone else I know personally who struggles with eczema order this! So, I’m super excited to be able to share it with y’all here today, too! Eczema can seriously be the worst, so if something works to combat it… it MUST be shared!

I’m so hoping this product works as well for you as it has for me! As I mentioned above, eczema can come in many forms… so my fingers are crossed that this heals yours! And if you’re worried about that, there’s no risk in trying! Eczema Honey Co.’s customer service truly is exceptional and if you have any questions or concerns at all… they stand behind their product and will do everything they can to make sure you love it, too!

I hope this review has been helpful and that you order quick and are on your way to healing, too! As always, let me know if you have any questions about my experience with using the product! I’m happy to help!

Good Day Gracie

eczema honey co.

Real talk. I’ve battled dry skin most of my life. If I’m not constantly moisturizing, I’m in trouble. The older I’ve gotten, the more important keeping my skin soft and moisturized has become to me knowing that the choices I make now affect my future. On top of having dry skin, I’ve battled “seasonal eczema” on the back of my arms for the past 10 years or so. It usually flares up in the fall and winter months. It’s rarely visible (except when I get out of the shower… hot water aggravates it), but I can always feel it and it drives me nuts. Recently, I had the opportunity to test out a product that I’m excited to share with you today, Eczema Honey.

Eczema Honey Co. has created a product that is not only highly effective, but is also safe and natural. The packaging states that it is a “miracle healing, bacteria fighting, honest moisture, itch cooling” 100% organic cream. I wanted to use this product for a solid month so that I could give an honest review. I’m so pleased with the results and am excited to share more with you about why I have come to love this product so much.

Ingredients:

Organic Pure Honey, Organic Almond Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Grated Beeswax, Organic Sunflower Oil, Colloidal Oatmeal, Pure Spring Water, and Optiphen.

In my attempts to switch over to more non-toxic and clean beauty/skin products over the past year, I was thrilled to find out that this product is organic, preservative free, and only has a few natural ingredients. In the past, I’ve used steroid creams, but with baby those are not as desirable for me to put on my skin because of potential transfer to Bodie when we’re cuddling and the possibility of what can absorb into breastmilk. I wasn’t able to use steroid creams when pregnant and don’t want to use them now with a newborn.

PS: There’s also a nut–free version for anyone who suffers from nut allergies. I was super impressed that this company created two versions of the cream so that people who may be allergic to an ingredient still have access to the benefits of this product.

Packaging and Application:

When I received the product, I was shocked at how small the container was. It’s a 4 ounce jar, but I’ve learned that a little goes a long way. The packaging is minimalistic and I like that. I’m always drawn to clean, simple packaging… anyone else?

I will say, this stuff does have a smell to it. It’s kind of a sweet, earthy smell and reminds me of honey or beeswax or something like that (fitting, right?). The smell does fade away after application. This product is a little sticky and you have to work it into the skin as it starts to melt on contact, but you get used to the texture after a few applications. A lipid barrier is formed to hold moisture in the skin. It’s important to keep the cream in the refrigerator as it is natural and without preservatives. The best thing about storing it cold is that it provides a cooling sensation to dry, flakey skin upon application and that is beyond refreshing.

eczema honeyAdditional Uses:

Obviously Eczema Honey is wonderful if you have eczema, but there are other ways to use the product even if you don’t. It works great as a deep moisturizer for really dry skin. My hands have been in rough shape lately… Luke has been calling me alligator hands and that’s embarrassing ha. My excessive hand-washing and sanitizing (newborn life, y’all… germs are not welcome in our house) and washing baby bottles and dishes has already caught up with me. I’ve started putting this cream on the top of my hands/knuckles and it makes a huge difference. The cracks heal faster and after several applications, I can really feel a difference in the texture of my skin.

You can also use Eczema Honey to remove makeup, as a lip balm, and as a deep moisturizing face mask. I’m all about a multi-tasker.

 Overall Thoughts:

I love it. Whether you battle eczema or just have dry, winter skin, I can’t recommend this product enough. It’s clean, safe for littles and adults, and it works. You do need to use it consistently to see results but, if you do, I think you’ll be very pleased. If you have any questions about my experience with this product, please do not hesitate to reach out… I’d love to chat more about it. You can also visit the Eczema Honey Co. website for more information about the product, read testimonials, see before/after pictures, and place an order if you’re interested.eczema honey

[Part l] Brutally Honest: Eczema Honey Co l “Miracle” Healing Cream Review (5 Day Results)

4,500 Reviewers Have Found Relief for Dry Skin and Eczema With This All-Natural Cream

Dry skin is so much more than just that. It can be an insecurity, a literal pain or itch, a hindrance to living our lives the way we want to. Whether we’re dealing with stubborn patches or year-round eczema, we’re always looking for a way to keep it away and keep it away for good. Prescriptions don’t always work. Sometimes, the solution actually ends up being all-natural!

The Eczema Honey Original Skin-Soothing Cream is an organic restorative cream that nearly 4,500 shoppers are hailing as a true “miracle” when it comes to soothing, cooling and moisturizing their dry, red and irritated skin. No prescription necessary! All we need to do is visit Eczema Honey’s website. This cream is only available directly from the brand, so don’t trust any wannabes on Amazon!

How to Use

Reviewers can’t stop calling this cream miraculous, unable to believe the results they’ve seen, but seeing is believing! Many went to doctors, but all of their prescription creams ended up burning or doing nothing at all. One said that when they switched to this cream, their eczema calmed down “within three days” and hasn’t flared up since! Some are even noticing a difference in just one day. One shopper said this cream has “given [them their] freedom back,” and reading that makes our heart swell!

This non-toxic cream is rich with nutrients and gentle yet powerful gluten-free ingredients. It’s made with moisturizing beeswax, pure honey, a humectant that may help us stay moisturized, soothing almond oil and sunflower oil, which is rich with antioxidants to protect us from free radicals. This cream actually claims to “create a moisture barrier” on top of our skin that not only shields it from harm, but conditions it so it becomes stronger!

This cruelty-free cream, which is handmade in the USA, can be used many ways. To soothe and cool either an irritated or itchy spot, we can take a dime-sized amount and rub it onto the area a few times a day. It may just melt into the skin. If we’re looking to use it as a general moisturizer, just rub it onto dry areas “until only a thin protective layer forms without too much excess product.” If we want a more intense treatment session, we can also use it as a mask! Just apply a thicker layer and leave it on for 20 minutes before washing it off with a clean and warm towelette!

The uses don’t end there. This cream can also be used as a lip balm to smooth out our smile and heal cracked skin! There’s another unexpected use, as well. We can actually use this cream to take off our makeup at the end of the day! Apply to face and wipe off with a cotton pad or ball for a softened, streak-free complexion!

If we’ve tried everything else and nothing has worked, this cream may seem heaven-sent. Luckily for us, we don’t have to wait around for a miracle to actually get our hands on it because we can just grab it whenever we want right from Eczema Honey! Relief is waiting for us — both mental and physical — so what are we waiting for? We want to add our own astonishing before and after photo to the reviews section too!

The Natural, Miracle Cream to Remedy Your Eczema

Reviewing the skin-soothing Eczema Honey Cream I keep seeing pop up all over social media. Is it as good as I hoped it would be?

Eczema Honey Cream Review I DreaminLace.com #eczema #beautytips #beautyblog

One of my favorite things in general about the social media era we find ourselves in is discovering products I otherwise wouldn’t know about – such a this skin-soothing Eczema Honey cream.

After seeing the product spring up all over Pinterest, I absolutely jumped at the chance to try it out when they kindly offered to send me two jars for review.

As much as I loathe talking about it, I’ve battled eczema since childhood. It’s a pesky, irritating and somewhat embarrassing problem that’s followed me my entire life. I get patches on my neck and IN my ears, which is not only unpleasant…but has also made me even more prone to ear infections. Cute, right? Nope.

Truth is, I’ve tried many over-the-counter remedies through the years but have yet to find something that works as effectively as my prescription ointment. On the flip side, while my prescription does heal up my eczema patches – my doctor cautions me that it is not safe for daily use.

So here I’ve been living in a catch 22 state my entire life. The prescription works but can only be used as a last resort. The over-the-counter methods are safer, but ineffective. After working my way through all the drugstore eczema creams, applying tea tree oil and keeping my fingers crossed with cortizone creams, I’ve struck out across the board and lived my life defeated by eczema. *womp womp*

Eczema Honey Cream Review I DreaminLace.com #eczema #beautytips #beautyblog

After basically giving up on finding something over-the-counter to treat my eczema, I was thrilled when the Eczema Honey Co. team reached out to me over email. Their offer to gift me some product so I could share my thoughts with you was very generous and I was excited to try a whole new approach to battling my eczema. I’d exhausted every avenue I could think of and the sound of a natural, organic cream was truly music to my eczema-suffering ears and neck!

Reading about the skin-soothing Eczema Honey Cream online, I was happy to learn that it is:

  • Non-toxic
  • Gentle enough for daily use (unlike my prescription and other topical steroids)
  • Made of natural, organic ingredients
  • Not tested on animals
  • Available both with AND without almond oil for those with a nut allergy
  • Proudly made in the USA
  • Contains no added fragrance

Smooth and Moisturizing

As soon as these arrived in the mail, I hopped outside with my camera to take these pictures so I could dig in. Instantly I fell in love with the texture of the Eczema Honey Cream and how smoothly it applies to the skin. I first applied the product to my hands to ensure the cream wouldn’t cause any added irritation to my already irritated eczema patches. Thankfully there was no concern there and I could tell that the “skin-soothing” cream was in fact very soothing.

The cream is also incredibly moisturizing! So much so, I found it works out very well as a hand and even a foot cream. I’ve used this on at-home pedicure nights, popping on freshly exfoliated feet. The ingredients are very nourishing, leaving smooth skin behind.

Where my prescription topical steroid has a way of drying away my already dry eczema patches, this cream takes an entirely different approach. The beeswax and sunflower oils are very nourishing. When massaging the thick cream onto affected areas, it almost feels like giving those patches of skin a much needed hug of comfort. It delivers the TLC your eczema so desperately needs.

Soothing Eczema

If you have eczema, I’m sure you agree it is a big pain in the arse and uncomfortable. Eczema patches can get quite inflamed, leaving your skin feeling irritated and even painful. At other times it’s itchy…which is a real problem as itching your eczema patches only further irritates the area.

When applying the Eczema Honey cream directly to eczema, I could tell an immediate difference.

That constant urge to pick or scratch at my eczema went away pretty much instantly, to the point where I was able to exist forgetting those areas were a problem to begin with. (A huge benefit. It’s bad enough having to deal with eczema, let alone having to be aware of it 100% of the time.)

As with any review here on DreaminLace, I like to test the product out over several weeks to really understand how well it performs. In this case in particular, I was really curious to see how well the cream would treat my eczema patches as well as prevent future breakouts.

Treating Symptoms

When applied to existing patches, the cream helped dramatically ease my symptoms! I used this both on my neck and even applied to my ear with my pinky finger. I was skeptical at first, but immediately comforted by just how quickly the cream goes to work. It really has a way of comforting the affected areas. It nourishes your skin, while also soothing irritation and effectively moisturizing those pesky dry, flaky patches.

Preventing Symptoms

Ultimately, I don’t think the Honey Eczema cream will cure you of eczema — but it works really well at holding off symptoms. It also works great in conjunction with a prescription if you have one.

My eczema is always at its peak in the summer for some reason and in the month+ of using this cream, I’ve been able to significantly scale back how often I rely on my prescription to manage symptoms. I’ve gone from applying my prescription 2-3 times a week, to only applying every two weeks. I’m also thinking that will only stretch out even further as I continue to proactively use the Eczema Honey cream.

The Cost

My prescription topical steroid co-pay runs about $30 so price wise, the Eczema Honey cream is very comparable to what I already pay for that. I’m also fortunate that I have eczema in relatively small patches (on my neck and inside my ear). So for me, it’s really easy to keep the cost down and make a jar last longer.

Those dealing with larger affect areas, though, might start to see it get expensive to use the cream. It is definitely more expensive than the over-the-counter eczema creams currently offered at the drugstore, although arguably more effective.

The upside is that the cream is thick and a little bit can go a long way.

Original v. Nut-Free

Since I was kindly sent both versions, I have been testing them both out to see if there’s a noticeable difference between the two. I’ve found they ultimately work very much in the same way. While the nut-free version doesn’t contain almond oil like the original, it is every bit as moisturizing and applies just as nicely.

Eczema Honey Cream Review I DreaminLace.com #eczema #beautytips #beautyblog

  • Price is $29.95 for 4 ounce jar
  • Made with natural, organic ingredients
  • Available both with and without almond oil for those with a nut allergy
  • Safe for daily use.
  • Safe and gentle for use on babies and young children
  • Gluten-free

The Pros:

  • Effectively soothes eczema symptoms
  • Keeps symptoms at bay when proactively used consistently
  • Very nourishing and comfortable to apply
  • More effective than other over-the-counter eczema creams at the drugstore
  • In addition to treating eczema, works well as a moisturizer on hands and feet
  • Fragrance-free
  • Not tested on animals
  • Doesn’t require a prescription
  • Now available at Ulta

The Cons:

  • At $29 a jar, can get pricey depending on how quickly you’ll go through a jar when treating your eczema
  • While moisturizing, the beeswax does slow down how quickly your skin absorbs the cream. Meaning you might run into issues applying this to areas beneath clothes if looking to use the cream before dressing for the day. It requires some patience.

All-in-all, I really do believe this cream works! No, it’s not an “cure” for eczema. You will need to continually apply to keep your symptoms at bay, but it does a really nice job at treating existing eczema patches as well as preventing them from recurring quickly.

I think the two jars I have will probably last me into October. From there, I definitely plan to purchase this on my own to be more proactive at preventing eczema…rather than just treating it as it springs up with my prescribed topical steroid.

It really is liberating to live life eczema free and I think this cream does a really great job of making that reality possible.
